Belle and the Beast's Children

Back in August I started this blog series and then researched for this post and just stopped. I forgot about this series, that is, until I was brainstorming post ideas for the new year and flipping through my name notebook. For these posts I like to watch the movies before finalizing my list of name inspirations. It gives me a better idea of the plot and little ideas I may have missed before.

For today's post I have Belle and Beast from Beauty and the Beast. My name inspiration comes from both Belle and the Beast. I took Belle's love for books and her father, Maurice, and combined it with the infamous rose and Beast's household object friends. My naming suggestions wouldn't be complete without looking at the moral of the story: seeing the inner beauty of someone.

Libby- My God is an Oath; English
Libby may not be an obvious choice for a book lover but bare with me here. I chose the name because Libby could be short for Library!

Astoria- Feminine Form of Aster (Hawk); English
Like Libby, Astoria is in honor of sweet Belle's love of reading. The nickname Story will be super cute here.

Maura- Feminine Form of Maurus (Dark Skinned); Italian and Spanish or Anglicized of Marie (Sea of Bitterness); Irish
Belle meets the Beast because of her father, the only living relative that we know of. Her love for her father is so strong so its only fitting that I feature names to honor him. Maura is a nice fix in my eyes!

Lavender- Pale Purple Color, Aromatic Flower; English
Lavender seems like a sweet Disney name. I filled the name from Mrs. Pott and Chip, the teapot and teacup from Beast's life. There are many flavors of tea out there and Lavender is one of them.

Rosabel- Combination of Rosa (Rose) and Belle (Beautiful); English
A single rose plays a an important role in the Beast's life so I had to add Rose names to the list. I choice Rosabel to be my main rose name because of the combination of Rose and Belle. To see more Rose name suggestions look below!

Cara- Beloved; Italian
The moral of the plot of the story is to look at people's inner beauty. I choose because it reminds me of caring. Plus the meaning is pretty nice too.

Joy- Joy; English
Just like Cara, Joy is inspired by a person's inner beauty.

Reed- Reed Clearing; English
Reed or Read is a nice honorary name for a book lover.

Morris- Form of Maurice (Dark Skinned); English
I pulled Morris from Belle's father Maurice. Morris would fit in Belle's little town.

Grey- Gray; English
Earl Grey tea is a tea familiar with many people. I can see Grey being a nice middle name to honor Mrs. Pott and Chip.

Boston- Place Name; English
Boston is on the list because the city is associated with tea.

Royce- Variant of Rose; English
To my surprise I was able to find a boy name associated with roses! I just had to add Royce to to list.

Brave- Courageous, Strong, English
When looking at someone's inner personality you look for the very best traits. I think being brave is something to be proud of. Brave or Bravery work here, especially as a middle name.

Noble- Notable, Noble; English
When you look up the definition of noble it says "possessing outstanding qualities" If that doesn't cover all qualities I don't know what does! Plus I think Noble is great for a little prince.
